How to: Prevent printing unwanted page breaks.
Solution:
If a break is unwanted from being a manually inserted page break, select the break and press DEL. If the break was automatically inserted by Word, either increase the printable area of the page (i.e., decrease margins or reduce font size), or set the text flow formatting for the problem paragraph.
To set text flow formatting for paragraph:
1) Place the cursor in the problem area of the text.
2) Select the 'Format' menu and select 'Paragraph...'. (The Paragraph dialog box appears.)
3) Click 'Text Flow' tab.
4) Select the desired Pagination options:
a) To prevent printing of a widow (last line of paragraph alone at top of page) or orphan (first line of paragraph alone at bottom of page), select the 'Widow/Orphan Control' check box.
b) To prevent a page break within a paragraph, select the 'Keep Lines Together' check box.
c) To prevent a page break between the current paragraph and the ensuing paragraph, select the 'Keep with Next' check box.
d) To manually insert a page break before a paragraph, select 'Page Break Before'.
5) Click 'OK'.
NOTE: To ensure that unwanted page breaks do not appear in document, use Print Preview to view document before printing.
